Kirk Cousins did not force the Minnesota Vikings to switch restaurants during their free agent visit, contrary to a report.

Prior to Cousins’ visit with the Vikings, NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero reported that the quarterback was on a variation of the Tom Brady diet. Because of that, the Viking supposedly were going to dine at a different restaurant from the usual steakhouse where they take players.

It was also smart for the Jets to go all-in at quarterback this offseason. Signing Teddy Bridgewater to a one-year deal was a boom-or-bust move, but it was worth the risk. Their trade for the No. 3 overall pick was controversial because they gave up a lot, but they’re now in line to get no worse than the third quarterback in the class. If they’re in love with the quarterback who falls to them and properly develop him, the cost won’t be remembered as an issue.

The Seahawks couldn’t sign the deal because Walter Jones would’ve made more than Hutchinson, and a fully guaranteed contract worth $49 million would’ve crippled the team.

A more common example was the Jacksonville Jaguars signing center Alex Mack to a front-loaded offer sheet with an opt-out clause. The Cleveland Browns matched the offer, but it ultimately led to Mack leaving and becoming a free agent two years later.

The Bears are among the league leaders in cap space. Any number the Packers were comfortable paying is one that Chicago didn’t have much issue matching.

Chopra on whether he has doubts that Brady will play in 2018: “No. You know, I’ve seen Tom’s process, and I think there’s very little doubt that he will eventually, this season, sort of find that thing that will get him back and really amped for next season. This past year was very unsatisfying in terms of how it ended, and so I don’t necessarily envision him leaving that as the last taste, you know, like I said to hold on.”

The 223rd pick is worth 2.3 points; the 227th pick is worth 1.0.
