With the institution of instant replay in baseball mostly gone are the days of wild ejections but Cubs’ manager Joe Maddon challenged that idea Friday night just three pitches into a matchup with the Pirates.
Cubs slugger Anthony Rizzo hit his third leadoff home run in three games and was in the dugout when the umpires overturned the call — ruling it foul without going to video review. Maddon and Rizzo were obviously not happy and protested the play to be reviewed in a harsh manner.
With all of the swearing from Rizzo, Maddon did his best to divert attention away from his star first baseman and was ejected instead. Chicago went on to score three runs in the first inning so not all was lost.
Authentic Kids Josh Gordon Jersey Millsap is Mr. Consistency. He’s going to get buckets and rebounds each and every night while playing exceptional defense. He switches onto guards if necessary, rotates seamlessly and disrupts offensive flow. He’s just a pro, on and off the floor.
Authentic Kids Jeremy Lane Jersey He’s 32, so there will be concerns on the back end of any contract he’s offered, and he’s not a No. 1 option on a contender. His outside shooting leaves a lot to be desired, and if that defense drops off late in his career, that’s a problem.
Still, he’s a guy who makes your team better and won’t shake up the dynamics of a locker room.Leave a reply
