INDIANAPOLIS — Jameis Winston still plans to throw on Saturday at the Combine, he confirmed at his Friday afternoon press conference. He did say that he had an MRI on Thursday, “just like everyone else,” and waved off concerns about his throwing shoulder reported earlier on Friday.

Earlier on Friday, it was reported that Winston was undergoing additional testing after experiencing “weakness” in his throwing shoulder. His personal quarterback coach, George Whitfield, Jr., waved off injury concerns, telling the media that it was a precautionary measure.

Winston’s agent, Greg Genske, echoed Whitfield on Friday afternoon, “Jameis feels incredibly strong and there is no need for treatment of any kind.”

A later report from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said that doctors checked out Winston on Thursday and gave him a clean bill of health.

Limited Mens Philip Rivers Jersey Shoulder weakness is a more common occurrence among baseball players, pitchers in particular. Winston also pitched and played outfield on the FSU baseball team.

SB Nation presents: The five best quarterbacks in the NFL Draft

The main drill is the off-tackle drill, which starts with a running back taking the hand-off from a coach, and from there moving quickly over a series of bags on the ground. He has to get his knees up high enough with each step and keep his eyes straight ahead when doing this drill. At the end of the bags is a coach holding a bag, and he’ll lean the bag either left or right. The back has to cut in the opposite direction of the bag before turning upfield to finish.

“I know games in April are important,” Collins said. “But when you look where we’ve been the last two or three years, those games in August and September, they’re huge games. And it seems like we were always talking about shutting somebody down, or you’ve got to skip a guy. And this is a year we can’t afford to do that.”

In retrospect, it’s almost miraculous the Mets made the playoffs last year in a season in which only Syndergaard (not to mention the now-departed Bartolo “The Bambino” Colon) made it through the year healthy. Does their skipper think they can win the World Series if their rotation doesn’t stay healthy?

“No,” Collins said flatly. “I probably shouldn’t say that. … But when we went to the World Series two years ago, our starting pitching carried us. So to me, it’s all about pitching. It’s about keeping our starting pitchers healthy.”

Authentic Kids Myles Turner Jersey Early in a critical spring, his starters have gotten that memo.

“People haven’t seen the best of this rotation,” deGrom said, confident as ever. “I think they’ll see the best when we all go out there every five days. And that’ll be this year — hopefully.”

“Pressure and expectations,” he said. “You talk to them about it. Everyone is aware what’s at stake. There are no surprises now.”

It took the parade in Chicago, after they won the World Series, for many players to understand what the title meant to the city. It’s one thing to see several thousand fans in an opposing stadium, but when millions line up to honor your achievements, it’s something that sticks.

“That was it for me,” outfielder Matt Szczur said. “I’ll never forget that.”

Neither will those who attended. But for many fans coming to Arizona, this will be their first glimpse into a new world in which the Cubs are champions. And that very well could become baseball’s new normal.

With that in consideration, the Gamecocks were able to get to 6-6 in the regular season and earn a bowl bid in Muschamp’s first year. Now, this isn’t Florida, and Muschamp’s expectations may not be much higher than that, if we’re being realistic. That goes double if the SEC East powers return to prominence. Three consecutive 11-win seasons in Columbia probably aren’t going to happen again.

Speaking of Florida, this isn’t the first time Muschamp’s been involved in roster status discussions.

It didn’t end well at Florida, but a theme of Muschamp’s early tenure at UF was reminding everyone that he walked into a roster situation in Gainesville that was pretty solid. Muschamp credited Urban Meyer with leaving him a stacked deck.

“At the end of the day, they’re Florida’s players. They’re not my players, either. I really think Urban and them did a great job recruiting. We have really talented players here.”

Muschamp would build on that with two top-five recruiting classes, so on its face it would appear that Muschamp left the roster stacked when he was fired from Florida. At least that’s what he wanted you to think in his farewell press conference.

With an expensive Mike Leake. This is the first time they had the benefit of an entire offseason to fix the hole left by the broken pitcher. Maybe that wasn’t a good thing.

They won 100 games, which is, again, mighty impressive for a team that lost its best freaking pitcher. It’s worth noting that Wainwright came back and pitched 5? scoreless innings in the NLDS.

Cutler’s time in Chicago is over. Both sides are ready for a clean break after the veteran quarterback appeared in just five games in 2016. Cutler holds every significant passing record in franchise history, but tossed 109 interceptions in 102 career games with the Bears. Since Cutler arrived in 2009, the Bears reached the playoffs one time (2010). Cutler wasn’t the entire problem — and at times played very well — but he never lived up to expectations. Not even close.

Siemian had offseason surgery on his left (non-throwing) shoulder, an indication of the struggles up front. And a quarterback, especially a young one, without a run game creates a target-rich environment for opposing defenses.

“Everyone always wants to look at a quarterback and say you have to have this quarterback,” Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy said. “I’m not taking anything away from the quarterback position. It is critical to have that guy, but you have to have the five guys up front playing as one and doing everything right … so that quarterback can sit back in the pocket and do what he can do.”

Elite Womens Nick Foligno Jersey Leary was rock-solid stepping in for the injured La’el Collins in 2016, but ultimately, Dallas has larger priorities to address in free agency, with pass-rusher at the top of the list. With Zack Martin and Collins entrenched as starters in 2017 and beyond, the team is in a position to let Leary move on.

Owens’ contract with the Eagles was for seven years and $49 million, but it was back-loaded. He made over $8.8 million in his first season, but the payout dropped to just over $2.7 million in year two, and Owens was dissatisfied. He hired Drew Rosenhaus and made it clear he wanted a new deal. The Eagles didn’t want to renegotiate, so Philadelphia released him.

Jerry Jones signed Owens to a three-year, $25 million deal, and Owens remained with the Cowboys for three seasons. The Cowboys released Owens following the 2008 season, but Jones still thinks Owens should be in the Hall of Fame.

The New York Rangers have liked what they¡¯ve seen from head coach Alain Vigneault. Tuesday morning, Rangers management officially announced a contract extension for Vigneault through the 2019-20 season.

The two-year extension, as his current contract ends after next season, also holds a $2 million annual raise for Vigneault, who has an overall 175-97-23 record since taking over as the Rangers head coach in 2013. During Vigneault¡¯s three-year career with New York, the Rangers have made the playoffs three times and have been seeded no lower than third in the Metropolitan Division postseason standings.

The extension should come as no surprise for Rangers fans, because why fix what isn¡¯t broken? Vigneault took over the Rangers after the former Vancouver Canucks head coach swapped jobs with New York¡¯s former bench boss, John Tortorella, in 2013. Tortorella¡¯s run in Vancouver ended disastrously before ending up as head coach of the Columbus Blue Jackets last season.

In Vigneault¡¯s first season as head coach, the Rangers went all the way to the Stanley Cup Final but lost in five games to the Los Angeles Kings. In 2014-15, Vigneault helped New York to 113 points, the highest point total in Rangers¡¯ regular season history, en route to a Presidents¡¯ Trophy for the first time since 1993-94.

Through 13 complete seasons as a head coach in his career, Vigneault has only missed the playoffs in three of them.

The Rangers are currently sitting at 63 points with the Eastern Conference¡¯s first wild card position, two points behind the Pittsburgh Penguins for third place.

His hands gave it away. Tom Brady was standing at the podium after Roger Goodell presented him the silver football trophy awarded to the Super Bowl’s most valuable player. It was the moment Patriots fans have fantasized about all year: The ultimate villain handing the ultimate victim a bulletproof honor, impervious to scandal, the final word after two years of war.
Youth Mark Jackson Jersey
But when the moment finally occurred, it wasn’t as contentious or awkward as everyone envisioned. Both men knew the stakes. Brady has taken the high road throughout the past two weird years, and in winning the Super Bowl for the fifth time and the MVP for the fourth, he might have earned the right to lash out, but he seemed content to take the high road once again.

Youth Brian Elliott Jersey And so he did. He talked about his teammates, about himself and his famous “outside the box” methodology of body care. He was cruising through his usual lines … until he was asked about his mother, Galynn, and her 18-month ongoing fight with cancer. And then Brady started to nervously tap his fingers on the podium, as if he were typing, almost trembling, as he tried to stuff down raw feelings that had surfaced during the week, for one final time.

Say what you want about the Patriots quarterback — but you can’t say you’d rather put the football in someone else’s hands if the goal is to win a Super Bowl.

“It was a cover-1 game, absolutely,” Belichick said. “We didn’t have a lot of success running the ball. We were able to make enough throws outside, and that finally was the difference for us, when we were able to get the ball to the perimeter. … To me, the game declared at the end of the first quarter.

Belichick watched highlights at 4 a.m. to confirm it happened. Belichick said he had to make sure it wasn’t a dream, so he watched the highlights early in the morning to confirm it.

Heartbreakingly for Falcons fans, that was almost as close as Edelman got to securing the ball. When Alford¡¯s leg hits the ground, it bounces back up and kicks the ball mostly out of Edelman¡¯s hands; as the ball slips toward the turf, it¡¯s kept alive by Falcons safety Ricardo Allen. There is an instant when all hangs in the balance: The ball is a few inches off the ground and a few inches away from Edelman¡¯s nose. Edelman¡¯s hands look a little over a foot apart, and they quickly clamp down on the ball an instant before gravity remembers to pull it back to Earth.

This remains the only Super Bowl ever to open at pick-em. The line soon moved to San Francisco -2 before the Bengals actually closed as 1-point favorites. San Francisco led 20-0 at halftime and while Cincinnati scored a touchdown to cut the 49ers lead to five with 20 seconds left, they never threatened to win. This was the highest over/under in Super Bowl history to this point at 48 points, and the game finished just 1 point below the number.

Elite Kids Steven Stamkos Jersey Quinn knew upon taking the Falcons job in 2015 that he had championship-caliber pieces in Ryan and game-changing wide receiver Julio Jones. It was more a matter of finding the right complements to surround his featured players.

The Falcons signed four-time Pro Bowl center Alex Mack last offseason to stabilize an offensive line that started the same five in every game of the season — the only NFL team to do so. The additions of wide receivers Mohamed Sanu and Taylor Gabriel, who was claimed off waivers from the Browns, alleviated some of the defensive attention from Jones, as did the drafting of rookie tight end Austin Hooper. And the late commitment to seven-time Pro Bowl defensive end Freeney bolstered the pass rush, while his veteran presence helped in the development of second-year pass-rusher Vic Beasley Jr., who led the NFL with 15.5 sacks.

The legal backlash, meanwhile, is just beginning. Elijah is one of three named plaintiffs in Ward’s lawsuit, which the lawyer has moved from Florida to Washington state. Ward claims more than a thousand potential clients have inquired about joining the suit. It alleges that Valve “knowingly allowed, supported, facilitated and/or sponsored illegal gambling.” Valve is seeking arbitration instead of a trial, a move Ward says he’ll resist.

Ward has also filed a suit in Miami on behalf of 44 plaintiffs that accuses Martin and CSGO Lotto of engaging in “deceptive trade practices.” Martin’s lawyer is seeking to get the case dismissed. He’s also trying to fend off a Federal Trade Commission inquiry into whether the YouTube star violated a law that bars celebrities from shielding their ownership in products they pitch.

A spokesman for the FTC said the agency does not comment on active investigations.

In a video message to his viewers last summer, Martin seemed contrite, saying, “I do feel like I owe you guys an apology. … I truly, honestly hope you guys give me an opportunity to get your trust back.” But the video was taken down shortly after it was posted. His lawyer said Martin would have no further comment. Cassell, who offered his own apology on Twitter, did not respond to an email seeking comment.

Allen had 8.5 tackles for loss in his final five games. He’s a true game-wrecker, with 15 QB hurries and 10.5 sacks. Allen’s excellent combination of quickness and power makes him one of the best interior pass-rushers we’ve studied in this draft class. He constantly pushes the pocket and brings tremendous experience to the table, with 56 games played.

The 2015 NFL Supplemental Draft is set for Thursday and there are seven players eligible to be taken. The big name is former Clemson offensive tackle Isaiah Battle, who might have been considered a high-round pick had he played another season with the Tigers. Battle has shown flashes of top-level play at his position, but is it enough for a team to put forward a pick within the first few rounds?

That’s the big question of the day.

Players are eligible for the supplemental draft if they were not eligible for the regular NFL Draft for whatever reason. Usually, players go this route for academic or disciplinary reasons. In Battle’s case, he claims things changed in his personal life that resulted in him needing to turn pro sooner rather than later.

The order of draft priority for the supplemental draft is essentially determined by record, but there’s actually a bit of a lottery system at play behind the scenes. All 32 teams are placed into three tiers, the first of which includes teams with six or fewer wins. The team with the worst record gets the best chance at earning top priority within that group. The second tier consists of the rest of the non-playoff teams and uses the same weighted system.

The final group consists of the 12 playoff teams from last season, and also follows the same weighted system as the previous two tiers.

The Rising Stars game isn’t enough. We need Joel Embiid in the Big Boy Game on All-Star Sunday. I’ll admit that I haven’t done my full breakdown on the East reserves yet to see if there’s really room for him — that comes later this week — but I’ll also admit that I’m flat-out rooting for Embiid now. This isn’t about his recent streak of eight 20-point games in a row despite logging less than 30 minutes in all eight. It’s not even about the Sixers’ recent uptick in the standings. It’s all about the spirit this guy has, after losing his first two full seasons to injury and all the losing Philadelphia endured along the way, on top of the great numbers. It’s a pleasure to watch how much Embiid enjoys his job.

Authentic Mike Fisher Jersey List all of the alibis you want. The Cavs never win in Utah. They got into Portland extremely late because of last week’s nasty weather in the Pacific Northwest before the second night of a back-to-back. Their shooters have gone uncharacteristically cold. All of that might be true, but Cleveland has looked a little more raggedy than anyone would have expected on its first trip of the season to the Western Conference. Interesting situation to monitor heading into Cavs-Warriors II: Coach Ty Lue’s crew is shooting just 32.1 percent from 3-point range in January, which ranked third-worst in the league for the month as of Sunday — better only than Philly (29.9 percent) and OKC (31.1 percent). Newly acquired Kyle Korver, of course, should be able to help with that.

This is indeed the toughest week ?of Golden State’s season so far, but it’s a biggie for the Rockets as well, with their first two-game blip under coach Mike D’Antoni still fresh in their memory and the Warriors coming to town Friday night looking to avenge that double-overtime loss on their own floor to Houston on Dec. 1. The Dubs (117.5 PPG) and Rockets (114.9) are trying to become the first pair of teams to average better than 114 points per game since the 1990-91 campaign, when four teams (Denver, Golden State, Phoenix and Portland) did it. James Harden, meanwhile, entered Sunday night’s gimme in Brooklyn creating the exact same number of points per game — 28.6 — with his scoring and his assisting.
